Estancia

With a population around 1,600 (2010 Census), Estancia has the “small” town environment with all the necessities – post office, grocery store, hardware store, gas stations, restaurants, hair/barber shops, Dollar Store, local school system, as well as police and Emergency Medical Services. It also is the county seat of Torrance County, New Mexico.

The town is surrounded by a ranching and farming community. It also has the Torrance County Detention Facility (TCDF), owned and operated by Corrections Corporation of America (CCA). This facility is a 910 – bed facility offering lots of employment opportunities for local townspeople.

The Estancia Library and the Estancia Aquatic Center (swimming pool) offer lots of recreational activities. McIntosh

McIntosh is a census-designated place in Torrance County, New Mexico. Its population was 1,484 as of the 2010 census. McIntosh has a post office with ZIP code 87032, which opened on August 28, 1906. This little community offers rural living not far from larger towns such as Moriarty, which sits on Interstate 40, and Estancia just a few minutes South.
